fannies and tents.

Spring cleaning last night… FOUND: my Gucci fanny pack from 2000, back when Carrie Bradshaw brought the sexy back in em. Best part, what was inside: one receipt from Wal-Mart for a tent only purchase, one receipt from Krystal from 3:32AM, a 3 day pass and line-up from Langerado Music Festival ’07. I don’t think Langerado even exists anymore……

found my pics from that festival… way before the social medias were on every corner..and cameras were so so, well, mine was so so.

Jim James in his moon boots, My Morning Jacket.. (we had press passes)

I’m sure the reason I bought that fanny pack… inspired to look like this. I remember it was back ordered for months, I was on the waiting list…heeee

my style noir.

So what, I almost missed my flight because of my nOir necklace, no hard feelings towards them for making super dangerously cool jewelry. I’ll take more of these….

met some Prada and Schiaparelli

I was able to catch the newly installed Schiaparelli-Prada “Impossible Conversations” exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Saturday! Yea, no 7 hour line wait like my last experience there for the McQueen show. Thank GAWD!!! Just a few nights behind the famous star attended Met Gala, we could still see flowers from the gala placed around the museum starting to shows signs of wilt.  A video through out the installation with Miuccia Prada and an Elsa Schiaparelli look alike (played by Judy Davis) sitting at a long contemporary dinner table end to end conversating to one anther about their lives, inspirations, and love for one another’s work and lifestyle! The show was a definite tail to how the two have very similar aesthetics, with Prada and Schiaparelli pieces and looks shown side by side throughout.. you could often not tell the difference. Amazing.

Not as dramatic and played out as the McQueen exhibit, but a must see for sure, especially if your a fashion person of interest.

My buddy Patrick was my date for the afternoon!

other random photos…. Guess that’s how they do it in the East Village!

Barneys window… too bad you can’t see the wind affect going on here!

neck weapons

yea, this Noir necklace of mine here did not make it through security yesterday at the Savannah airport!!! repeat… did NOT. TSA apparently thinks fashionable studs and rhinestones are weapons. My choices were… A. leave it and let them throw away this beauty, um no. B. have a friend come pick up… umm, no time, I have a flight to catch. C. try and race back to the ticket counter, have my bag retrieved from plane, check it, return back through security lines and pray I make my flight.  I chose C. Made it, barely. Good times!!!

while I’m at it, posting from NYC and all… this is whatta had going on me today… Stuart Weitzman patent oxfords score, from a vintage store in SOHO yesterday. “like new”. and those crazy acid two toned jeans I scored at Zara! yep.

seasoned & saucy

Ok, so I have mentioned the “other fabulous” food inspired blog Salted&Styled that I fashion curate for on my “not quite as fabulous” blog here :) OK kidding, I think my blog is kinda fabulous too.  Soooo, here we Salted & Styled gals/team are all together styled and seasoned for Savannah Magazine. Check this months issue out, where the team curated a 22 page spread for em…..similar to how we do it on the blog!

left to right ( the most fantastic and wittiest writer in the land, Andrea Goto, the super fly photographer Chia Chong, the artistically sharp and talented Katherine Sandoz, the best art curator and eye on the scene, Amy Zurcher, and ummmm… no introduction needed for THE Libbie Summers , and my favorite podcast curator, food and antique extraordinaire Brenda Anderson, and you know me over there on the end, as fish juice was drippin on to my legs).

Fashion styled by me, of course.
